Before you buy a Dell computer in India, please beware of their after sales technical support. I would like to share my personal experience with everyone considering buying a Dell computer in India. I purchased a Dell Inspiron 8500 laptop and one day it suddenly stopped booting up.
I called up their 01800 4252054 toll free number and after about 18 minutes I get to speak to a real person. I explained my problem and I was assured that I’ll be looked after by our technical team and was asked to hold on the line. After a few seconds the tone on my phone changes and I realize that I got disconnected.
I called up again and after being through the same gruesome process of waiting, I get to speak to a real person and that person apologizes for getting disconnected and I was again asked to hold on and again after few seconds my phone gets disconnected.
I called up again and shared my concern of getting disconnected every time and that person again apologized and assured me once again that time it will not happen because I am being transferred directly to the technical team and was asked to hold on again. Again after few seconds I got disconnected. By this time, it was really getting on my nerves calling up so many times and also speaking to a new person every time, and explaining that person what is happening to my phone calls.
How ever, I called up again and as soon as I got to speak to a real person I asked her to please lodge my complaint of getting disconnected and I literally requested her to help me with my problem. She apologized to me for what is being happening and asked me hold the line and this time I was not transferred to technical support...…..after few seconds she comes back and tells me that there is no one picking up at technical support and offered me if it would be okay if she arranges some one from technical support to call you back. I agreed and she took my mobile number and promised me that some body will call me in couple of hours and I would not have to call their number again.
I waited the whole day for a call from Dell but no one called me and my number was not busy………I decided not to call Dell support again and decided to share this incident with every one who may be going through the same phase as me and warn other who are planning to buy a new Dell machine.
